BERWICK V LION CUBS, PREVIEW

LEICESTER Lion Cubs look to complete the job of KO Cup progression when they head to Berwick on Saturday.

The Lion Cubs are firmly in the driving seat of their semi-final following an emphatic 63-27 win over the Bullets at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena earlier this month.

And assuming they can avoid suffering one of speedway’s biggest ever turnarounds, they will be able to look forward to a two-legged Final against Mildenhall later in the season.

The meeting is the second half of a double header at Shielfield Park, with the senior Berwick side taking on Edinburgh first, and the Cubs are expected on track around 8.15-8.30pm.

Dave Howard’s side are at full strength after Vinnie Foord missed Thursday’s British Under-19 Final at Redcar in order to repair machinery after a heavy crash at Oxford on Wednesday.

The Bullets are still without Kieran Douglas after his crash in the first leg, and Kyran Lyden steps in to guest at No.6.

BERWICK: Kyle Bickley, Ace Pijper, Mason Watson, Luke Crang, Greg Blair, Kyran Lyden, Ben Rathbone.
LEICESTER: Dan Thompson, Mickie Simpson, Connor Coles, Tom Spencer, Joe Thompson, Vinnie Foord, Max Perry.
